Rep. Baumbach E-Newsletter - 9/23

Dear Neighbor,

Rep. John Kowalko and I will hold a joint town hall meeting tonight for Newark residents in order to gather public commentary and opinions regarding a proposed data center and power plant in town.

The meeting will take place Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Newark High School auditorium. West Chester-based The Data Centers LLC has proposed building a 900,000-square-foot structure to house computer servers and offices with an accompanying 248-megawatt generating power plant on the Star Campus site of the University of Delaware, formerly the Chrysler auto plant.

Both Rep. Kowalko and I want to provide a forum for Newark residents to express their thoughts. Speakers at the town hall will be limited to two minutes each. Comments will be shared with all stakeholders to better convey the opinions of the Newark community.

I hope to see you tonight. Please contact my office with any questions you have in the meantime (302) 577-8489.

Sincerely,

Paul Baumbach

DART Paratransit Meetings

Over the past several years, the demand for DART buses and paratransit services in our state has continually increased. As such, the Delaware Transit Corporation has faced challenges due to the high demand. The DTC is working to improve and expand their paratransit services and will be holding information sessions on these programs. The sessions will provide an overview of our Title VI program and policies, as well as a presentation on the state of public transportation in Delaware. While the sessions are scheduled for three hours, the presentation will be repeated frequently during the course of each session, so you can come anytime within the scheduled times. There will also be opportunities for interaction with DTC staff to answer your questions and listen to your comments. The sessions are being held:
