Rep. Longhurst: Rail Safety Community Meeting Set for Monday

Dear Neighbor,

I'm writing to remind you of Monday's rail safety meeting. The meeting will take place at Delaware City Fire Hall this Monday, March 10, at 6 p.m.

I decided to hold this informational community meeting due to concerns area residents have raised in recent months about emergency preparations in case of an accident involving crude-oil traveling by rail to PBF Refinery.

There will include a panel of experts to answer questions and brief the public on emergency plans and safeguards. The panel will include representatives from the Delaware Emergency Management Agency, the State Emergency Response Commission, Norfolk Southern, PBF Refinery, DelDOT, DNREC, law enforcement, fire chiefs and first responders.

WHO: Rep. Longhurst, Sen. Poore, Sen. McBride, representatives from Norfolk Southern and PBF Refinery WHAT: Rail Safety Community Meeting WHEN: 6-8:30 p.m., Monday, March 10 WHERE: Delaware City Fire Hall, 815 5th St., Delaware City

Sincerely,

Valerie Longhurst
