Kick Off the Holiday Season in Downtown Dover at the Capital Holiday Celebration!

‘Tis the season to celebrate! Join us for the Capital Holiday Celebration Thursday, December 3rd, 2015 at 5:00 pm on Loockerman Street at City Hall in Downtown Dover.

From 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., visit the Dover Public Library for crafts, hot chocolate, cookies, horse-drawn carriage rides, dance performances, reading circles, and other various events.

At 6:00 p.m. you can enjoy singing with friends, neighbors, CDCC Board Members, Dover & Kent County Dignitaries, and Dover Air Force Base representatives accompanied by members of the Delaware State University Band during the Caroling Program from the stage at City Hall. Local school children will be leading several Christmas carols. Mayor Robin Christiansen will be lighting the Christmas tree in front of City Hall.

During the Capital Holiday Celebration on December 3rd, a City of Dover truck will be stationed on Loockerman Street in Downtown Dover next to City Hall from 5:00-7:00 p.m. City employees will be there to accept your nonperishable food item donations. A few examples of items to donate are canned vegetables, cereal, canned fruits, spaghetti sauce, canned tuna, or peanut butter. These donations will help stock local food pantries.
