Bill Would Expand Education Funding

Last week, I introduced legislation that would extend state funding for basic special education to kindergarten through third grade. The proposal is an effort to promote earlier identification and assistance for these students, which supporters said would potentially mitigate costs to the education system over the long term. You can find more information about this bill and daily updates on other legislation, committee hearings, and session events at the General Assembly's new website.

Bald Eagle Sightings at Conowingo Dam

My own picture of a bald eagle at Conowingo Dam

The bald eagles are in full force out at Conowingo Dam. This is an excellent, free opportunity to get some fresh air with your family and have a look at our nation's most iconic bird. For tips on how to best view these birds, check out this visitor guide

Paved Trail Complete at Carousel Park

The paved trail is now open and accepting walkers and hikers at Carousel Park. The trail provides a more stable and comfortable surface for viewing the park's winter scenery. For more information check out Carousel Park's website.
