Warner Elementary Principal for a Day


I had the wonderful experience of serving as principal for a day at Warner Elementary in Wilmington recently. I met many amazing students and teachers and spent a lot of time with Warner's principal, Dr. Chrishaun Fitzgerald.


148th General Assembly


This year’s legislative session begins next Tuesday, January 13, at 2 p.m. in Legislative Hall, when my fellow legistors and I will take the oath of office. 


This session, I’m proud to serve as vice chair of the House Education Committee, and as a member of the House Labor, Housing and Community Affairs, House Telecommunication, Internet and Technology, and House Veterans Affairs committees.


As we begin this legislative year, please don’t hesitate to call my office and voice your thoughts and opinions about issues facing our community and our state.



Free Spay Day


The Office of Animal Welfare is hosting a FREE Spay Day on January 14 for low-income pet owners and free-roaming cat caretakers. Click here to find a location near you. Appointments are first-come-first serve so make your appointment today!



School Choice Deadline


The online choice application, with which families may apply for their child to attend a school other than their ‘feeder school,’ closes on Wednesday, Jan. 14. For more information, click here.



Red Clay College Fair


By junior year of high school students should start the college application process.  Red Clay is holding its annual college fair and counselors from regional colleges and universities will be there!  The event is free and open to the public, and will be held Dickinson High School on Thursday, March 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.


This will give you an opportunity for you to meet college admissions counselors.  During the event, counselors will provide presentations on financial aid, scholarships, the College Board SAT, and the college application process.
