Dear Neighbor,

I hope this message finds you well! I hope you had a pleasant Memorial Day Weekend and had the opportunity to enjoy the warm weather.

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some important information affecting our community. Last week, Ken Woods was elected to serve the open New Castle County Council Seat for District 1, which was vacated after the death of the late Councilman, Joe Reda.

I am excited to also share that the University of Delaware is adjusting their policy regarding state-funded merit-based scholarships. Please see their full letter addressed to me below.

In addition, please take notice of the various upcoming community events in our area, including the Rockwood Ice Cream Festival and the Saint John the Beloved Carnival. I hope you can make one of these great events!

As always, please do not hesitate to contact my office with any questions or concerns you may have about issues in the 19th District or the state.

Sincerely

Kim Williams

Scholarship Commitment to Delawareans

I am excited to share that the University of Delaware is adjusting their policy regarding state-funded merit-based scholarships. Beginning with this fall's first-year students, the University of Delaware will remove the Diamond State Scholarship and the Michael Ferguson Scholarship from their need-based financial aid equation. I have been working with the university since October to resolve the issue after I was contacted by a Delaware family, and I'm excited to see all of our hard work come to fruition. Please see the full letter below.
