Dear Neighbor,

With the fall season upon us, I hope you and your family can take advantage of the great weather and enjoy some of the great events occurring in our community, including our local yard sales and farmer markets. Please see below for additional information.

I'd also like to invite residents to attend the New Castle County Police' upcoming Coffee with a Cop event on Friday, October 7th, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Cpl. Paul J. Sweeney Public Safety Building. The event will give individuals the chance to have an informal conversation with our police officers about the issues that matter most to the community.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact my office with any questions or concerns you may have about issues in the 19th District or the state.

County Police Coffee and Conversation

The County Police will host their Coffee with a Cop event on Friday, October 7th, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Cpl. Paul J. Sweeney Public Safety Building.

This event is an opportunity for the division of police to help facilitate informal conversation between police and members of the community. Like the “Pastries with Public Safety” event held last year, community members are encouraged to have sit-down discussions with officers over a cup of coffee.

The Coffee with a Cop event was highlighted in the Final report of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing as a way to build community trust and confidence. As with many of the community-oriented programs, they are interested in hearing about what matters most to our residents to solve some of the community’s problems or concerns.
