Mike P. Mulrooney

State Representative, 17th District

Mike Mulrooney has served in the House of Representatives since 1998. He is a graduate of John Dickinson High School and currently works for the New Castle County Vo-Tech School District in the adult education programs at the Delaware Skills Center.

Rep. Mulrooney has been a member of the Electricians Union Local 313 since 1978, serving a four-year apprenticeship and later served on the executive board and as union vice president for a combined 15 years. He also was a delegate to the AFL-CIO and the Delaware Building Trades Council. Rep. Mulrooney’s work with organized labor for nearly 40 years is part of why he currently chairs the House Labor Committee. He also serves as vice-chair of the House Bond Bill, Natural Resources and Public Safety & Homeland Security Committees.

Rep. Mulrooney lives near New Castle with his wife of 31 years, Sue. He has been involved in the past with Suburban Little League, Penn Acres Swim Club and PennAcres South/ Pennwood Civic Association.
